Still buzzing from a great few days diving in Kaikoura, Rhiannon, one of Dive HQ Christchurch’s Diploma of Scuba Instruction students, shares her experience with us today:
Completing my Advanced Diving Certification in Kaikoura was a new and thrilling experience for me. Our trip to Kaikoura was actually my first ever time there, so it was an exciting trip for many reasons! I am passionate about the ocean and its wonderful marine life, Kaikoura grew my love even more.

For me and some of the other students it was our first time scuba diving in salt water, and mother nature definitely did not disappoint! With great visibility and an abundance of fascinating creatures at our fingertips, it was no surprise we were in the water in the blink of an eye.

I thoroughly enjoyed completing the various adventure dives and learning some helpful skills to test back home! For our team, the first trip to Kaikoura pushed us a little bit closer to our diplomas and grew our appreciation for the sea. I am proud of myself and my classmates for achieving such a great step in our scuba diving journeys! I look forward to our next adventure in Kaikoura.
